AND THAT'S HOW
YOU ARRANGE IT

Flower Arranging Basics

The fundamentals for arranging flowers on your own

Greetings!

Do you ever wonder as a host what to do with the flowers you just bought or were just given? Or do you have a container you've been hoping to use in a display? Perhaps you have been a guest at an event and simply want to know how a particular arrangement was created and stays together? I grew up watching generations of women in my family create flower arrangements that felt expressive, elevated, and complete. Rather than loose stems haphazardly dropped in a vase, their flowers were arranged with intention and confidence. Usually, the host selects the flowers for a reason, and the reason why is often to make the setting more pleasing for the guest.

When I began arranging flowers myself, I learned that the how of what makes an arrangement stunning is often the foundation. Whether it’s a flower frog or floral oasis, grounding your stems gives blooms the freedom to move, bend, and shine with ease in any container. Living in Europe further expanded my perspective, introducing me to Continental design, unexpected containers, and creative materials that reshaped how I think about arranging altogether.

In this course, I share the fundamental principles that make flower arranging approachable, flexible, and fun, while showing you how to incorporate items that are meaningful to you. Whether you are the host whose job is to create the setting, or the guest whose role is to appreciate the displays, let's take a moment to build your confidence so that every arrangement feels intentional, personal, and memorable because That’s How You Arrange It!

Sincerely,

Susannah
