Do you ever wonder why some events remain in your memory long after they end, while others fade almost immediately? Or why a gathering is often described as “successful,” as if it followed a perfect formula? What truly makes an event memorable? Is it the people, the food, the setting, or something more intangible?

Through years of both hosting and attending events, I’ve come to understand that clarity around the roles and expectations of host and guest sets the tone for the entire experience. The who, what, where, when, why, and how of a gathering all influence its outcome. Memorable events can certainly happen organically, but when intention is applied, gatherings are far more likely to feel effortless, engaging, and worth remembering.

In this course, I'll explain the etiquette of hosting and attending through the five distinct stages of the event itself: the before, the beginning, the middle, the ending, and the after. By understanding the responsibilities of both host and guest at each stage, from invitations and arrivals to participation and departures, you’ll learn how thoughtful preparation allows you to navigate gatherings with intention and be mindful of the memories you create.
