10 Phrases That Ground SET FOR THE GUEST
A motivational talk on the importance of etiquette
Greetings!

What's your mindset? I consider mine to be that of a lifelong learner, and this became especially clear while living abroad. Everyday life required new ways of learning, whether navigating a foreign language, adapting to unfamiliar customs, or interpreting unspoken social cues. And when I repatriated to my hometown, I had a fresh perspective on the culture in which I grew up.

Living abroad taught me the importance of being grounded in my own culture in order to truly appreciate the nuances of another. It highlighted the distinct roles of host and guest. While I could be the host in my own home or at events I originated, I was always a guest in a foreign country. The more familiar I became with these roles and the more I local customs I learned, the easier and more confident my daily interactions felt.

Living abroad also reinforced my belief that every experience carries value and adds something meaningful to our personal toolkit. That belief is at the heart of Set for the Guest: ground ourselves in etiquette and carry ourselves with confidence.

In this course, I explain 10 phrases that encouraged me to get grounded in etiquette, why they matter to me, and how they have become the backbone for the SET FOR THE GUEST. This mindset continues to influence the way I move through the world today, I hope it will be of value to you, too. Let's add skills to our toolkits, be mindful of the impression we leave, and intentional about the memories we create.

Sincerely,
Susannah
